5 May 2019 – The Hibiscus has announced the final 28 players for the Asia Rugby Championship 2019. Head coach, Brad Mika and the team manager, Amir Amri Mohammad made the announcement this morning. The announcement took place at the National Sports Council.
The announcement came after the national team defeated Sri Lanka in the second test match last night. Malaysia won the match that took place at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium 31 – 26. It was the second win for the Hibiscus as they defeated Singapore Select last April. The squad was first gathered on the 1st April, right after the end of Malaysia Rugby League.

The team is having a couple of day off after the match against Sri Lanka. They will report back on the 8 of May before they continue their training session on Tuesday.
The Hibiscus will fly to Incheon for the opening match of the Asia Rugby Championship Premier as they will South Korea at the Namdong Asiad Stadium on 18th May 2019.
Malaysia first home match will be on 25th May 2019, with South Korea travelling to Kuala Lumpur on matchday 2. The game is set to kick off at 9.00pm
