8 Becember 2019 – Malaysia 7s Ladies team retains the bronze medal the won back in 2017 in the 2019 SEA Games edition. The team finished 3rd out of 6 competing teams.
Malaysia ended the round-robin with 3 wins and 2 defeats. Both defeats came from the match against the top two team, Philippines and Thailand. That put the ladies in the 3rd spot, securing the bronze medal match against Indonesia. The two teams met one another in the 5th round match with Panthera cruised to 39 – 5 win over Indonesia.

The first half of the Bronze medal match saw total domination from Malaysia as they scored 2 tries from Norfarhana with the referee awarded Malaysia with a penalty try as the team lead 19 – 0 at the end of the half. That however did not put Indonesia to bed as they showed what they capable of with 2 tries but could not complete the comeback.

Malaysia retains the bronze medal with 19 – 12 win over Indonesia.
Thailand beat the host, Philippines with a wonderful performance to grab Gold. Thailand won the Gold medal match 17 – 7.
