30 September 2019 – Malaysia 7s Women have done wonders to retain their Asia 7s Series status. The national team is set to compete in the Series for second consecutive years in 2020 as they finished the Series in 7th spot.
The national team did not have the best outing in the 3rd and last Series in Sri Lanka as they ended the series winless. Malaysia ended the Sri Lanka at the 8th spot as they lost the 7th/8th match to the host 7 – 17. That result put 3 nation, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Singapore with 7 points each in the overall points count after the 3 series.

Tan Thiam Jin’ girls showed remarkable progress throughout the Series as they showed maturity as the series progress. They will need to shift their focus as the team will need to get themselves ready to achieve better in the 2019 Philippines SEA Games by the end of this year.
Malaysia is set to have two teams in the 2020 Asia Rugby 7s Series for the very first time ever as Men will return to the Series after winning the Asia 7s Trophy in Indonesia earlier this year.as
