9 September 2019 – Malaysia 7s team had a perfect preparation as they competed at the Chang 7s. It was another perfect outing to the team as they set 100% record en route to lift the cup.

Malaysia was not the only national team to compete as the Cambodia, Laos and Singapore also took part. Malaysia ended first day top of Group A with 4 wins out of 4. The impressive 100% record also saw the team manage to score at least 5 tries in each group match.

The second day saw Rimau roar to the final with 24 – 10 win over Air Force before got better of Singapore 26 – 7 in the semi final.

It was all Malaysia final at Chang 7s. Malaysia 7s squad face Awesome RC who was represented by number of Malaysia 15s squad player lead by Fairuz Abdul Rahman and Saki Gavidi. The team also consist of former 7s squad trainee with Zharif Affandi, Khairul Abdillah, A’aziem Badaruddin and Nazreen Fitri are in the mix.

Malaysia 7s

Malaysia crowned the Chang International Rugby 7s champion as they defeated Awesome 26 – 5 in the final. The tries were scored by Amalul Hazim, Zulhisham Rasli, Anwarul Hafiz and Wan Izzudin while Awesome got their consolation try through Wan Azley.

Malaysia also received another award as Nasaruddin Ismail won the Sportmanship Award.
